ConsuWijzer started the campaign ‘Every app has a price’ in 2015, to make Dutch consumers aware that they often allow apps access to their personal information, such as: location, personal messages and photos.

Research shows that young people often don’t know that app providers earn money from their data. Many young people (92%) state that they usually don't read the terms and conditions of the app. The permissions that allow the app access to information such as messages, location and photos, are read by 21% of young people. Despite this, young people indicate that they find their online privacy important. ConsuWijzer has various tips to help consumers maintain control over their data. Read more about it on their website.
